Hello again! Just wanted to share a little haul of MAC goodies and some action shots!
These are the new Sheen Supreme lipsticks, in Bare Again and Can't Get Enough, and Longwear Creme lipstick in Sweet Ever After. I have to say that, being a fan of more subtle shine, I much prefer Sheen Supremes to the old Slimshines! The formula is really great! And I love both of the colors I picked out - Bare Again is really my-lips-but-better and Can't Get Enough is a bit more polished but still relatively close to my natural lip color; it's really good for everyday wear. Sweet Ever After also falls into the "polished and professional but not too bold" category.
Also picked up: a blush refill pan in Blushbaby (sheertone, beige-y pink); ZoomLash mascara in Green is Green (from the Flighty collection); Pro Longwear foundation in NC15
Swatches of foundation (blended on the left side of the picture) and mascara:
Green is Green in action! (Shadow is Chanel Taupe Délicat duo.)
If you have dark lashes, like me, green mascara is a nice, but subtle, way to add interest to your usual eye makeup without being too over-the-top. (In fact, I wore this exact look to my viva, or dissertation defense, earlier this week. Because if I'm going to wear penguin clothes and almost all black in late June, I'm going to at least look interesting, dammit!) When I went to the MAC counter to check it out before buying, though, the makeup artist put some on my friend, who is ginger and has very, very pale lashes, and the effect was completely different, much bolder!
Below, with complexion makeup only: wearing Pro Longwear foundation in NC15, blush in Blushbaby, Select Sheer loose powder in NC5.
I think NC15 is a teensy bit on the yellow/orange side for me, but with enough blending it can be fixed. However, I've gotta say that this stuff really does live up to the "long wear" part of its name - it has lasted 18 hours on me with no touching up and minimal oil/shine problems (I think I blotted once during that period?) in some rather nastily warm and sweaty English summer weather.
Swatches, with flash, on NW15 skin. Left to right: Blushbaby (blush), Bare Again (Sheen Supreme), Can't Get Enough (Sheen Supreme), Sweet Ever After (Longwear Creme)

That's all for now - I've got lots of free time, though, and already have another post almost finished! Blog productivity! Woo! Thanks for reading!
*Updated to add a couple of MAC foundation comparisons - Studio Sculpt, Pro Longwear, and Studio Fix Fluid, all in NC15:

thanks for sharing!
I am curious abt the pro long wear, but have often heard the shades are really off, and different from their other foundations.
